one day before Christmas..

2 vessels collide, 27 missing..

MANILA, Philippines – Search-and-rescue teams combed the waters of Manila Bay on Thursday for at least 27 people missing after a passenger ferry collided with a fishing boat, the coast guard said.

Forty-six passengers and crew of the wooden-hulled ferry MV Catalyn B were plucked from the water and brought to the coast guard's Manila headquarters, said coast guard spokesman Armand Balilo. The coast guard has alerted all vessels in the area to look for those still missing, he said.

A woman passenger was seen being carried on a stretcher, while others were led to a clinic for a medical examination.

The 44-foot- (13-meter-) long vessel, which was carrying 73 people on a journey from Manila to southwest Mindoro Island, sank shortly after the accident, Balilo said. The ferry had a capacity to carry 126 people.

All 22 crewmen on the other vessel involved in the collision, were safe and their fishing boat did not sink, said Melvin Viola of the coast guard's operation center.

The cause of the collision off Cavite province's Limbones island was not clear. No weather disturbances were reported in the area. The collision came at a time when millions of Filipinos were heading to their home provinces ahead of Christmas Eve.

outpouring emotion..

It's been quite awhile since I last dropped off thoughts and feelings I was used to sharing on this site. I admit to be still trying to have an open heart and mind so that I could at least weigh and balance things. The choice as to which is way better to do than say things I might only regret in the end.

But then sometimes it's not enough to just stay in one corner and say nothing while some people drop you like a hot potato. And it's sad to realize that I now find myself at the height of trying to gain back what's been taken away from me only because my name is dragged in the issue.

How do I deal with a boss at work whose level of understanding is not as broad as I expected? How do I defend myself when I was already being judged over things I never did in the first place? These are questions cropping up my mind last night as I was trying to give myself a good-night sleep. Questions I know in fact where there are no vague answers. But I was being foolished to have found myself straight to his office as if admitting a mistake I am never guilty of only to avoid trouble and end the issue.

OK, he wins...my boss's immaturity in his old age..that's it. But still I have serious regret. Had I only explained my side fearlessly, I could have been even more relieved. However, I told myself, "oh yeah! i guess this is the prize that i get for trying to avoid trouble but still the trouble came to challenge me."

many gifts, one spirit

Many gifts, one spirit, many songs, one voice
Many reasons, one promise, many questions, one choice.

O, God, we pray for unity, give guidance from above.
In our differences unite us in the circle of your love.

O, God, remind us we are not alone.
Though we move on different pathways, we are walking to your throne.

Help us learn to love each other, show us ways to understand.
We are members of one familly, growing strong by joining hands.

O, God, remind us we are not alone.
Though we move on different pathways, we are walking to your throne.

Take our many ways of working, blend the colors of each soul
into the beauty of a rainbow.
Give us life, Lord, make us whole.

Ondoy and us..

The tragedy brought by typhoon Ondoy reminds me of the story of Noah's Ark in the Bible. And though this dilemma is an awakening for all of us Filipinos, for all our little and big ways of caring less to our environment, still it helps us unite as one family by means of giving support to each other.

As I contemplate on the impact that the situation brought to us, it seems to me that it's about time that we must know as individuals our role and responsibility to our Mother Earth. This is no longer a moment of pointing fingers to one another but its about time to realize that we all are responsible as God's tenants in this planet. And that we have no right to question God why such thing happens but rather look within ourselves and ask what makes it happen. Sometimes and even most often, our tragedies are made out of our vey own follies.

I continue to pray that in this time of nothingness we'll learn to hold on for what are actually the essentials. So help us God.

moving..

for five years of marriage my best friend along with her husband and one child already lives with her parents. just when she thought that their relationship would grow deeper, things are on the other way around. her parents have always been mean to her husband and been treating him badly. i was with mixed emotion when she texted me last night telling me,"nakahanap na kami ng husband ko ng mauupahan..pwede kaba punta dito sa bahay while we're packing up our things para di ako masesermonan ni mama?". i realized that for all those years that she entered into a married life, her parents have not yet accepted the fact that they have already entrusted their only girl to someone she loves.

my friend will be moving on..not that she wanted to escape from the responsibility that until now she thinks she'll always have for her family even when she's already married..but it's time that her parents too would realize that she has already a family of her own to attend to. i can only hope that their moving on will not break the bond she has with her parents. it may be sad but it's a reality that her parents will have to face.

career path

Talking about career plan in this very competitive generation where all seems to be on-the-go, sometimes I wonder if we have considered the possibilities of whether we choose the right career path for us. Some have become practical in their choices like wanting to work abroad after finishing college or getting enough experience. While others are simply content working in their own native land and salaries do not matter much but the working relationship does. I honestly would prefer the latter one. But sometimes when we no longer have the option with what to choose, we just have to grab what's been laid on our hands.

Just this afternoon I got to talk to a college friend. She was telling me that they are in need of advocacy support staff in their office. She told me about the compensation. Salaries in this present time really do matter whether it's a high-paying job or just a minimum paid job. We were also talking about the job she's into. For ten years now she works as an accountant in that company but then still she doesn't seem very satisfied with the salary she gets. We all have preferences, it's just making a wiser decision I guess.

how about web hosting?

For years, I have been blogging but I have not considered owning a website of my own. Just recently, friends online have been backing up on me about considering web hosting. However, I heard also some say that it's not that easy. Aside from the maintenance, you will have to look for a web hosting provider that will best meet the service you expect and the less amount that one will have to pay.

Bloggers like me may have been thinking too of the scope that varies in the web hosting services. Many internet service providers may have limitless offers but of course we all want a much detailed yet up-to-date services. Well, we all may not be new technology and computer geniuses but we know so well which web hosting services do serve best and we can differentiate one very good web provider than the rest. I thought of considering a new web page provider that I think will be very beneficial for all who are in search of an internet service provider at its peek.

For almost five years now, I realize that it's about time to give myself a very good break by owning a website of my own. I deserve this break. I have always loved writing online since then and so I realize that it's high time for me to treat my blogging journey right with the best web hosting service provider available online. If you are in one with me in this venture, you too may give your self the same break. Be a blogger at your best with the best web hosting online!:)

it's the climb

A very good friend is going through tough times in her life that sometimes when she would start to unload her pains, I no longer find comforting words to say.

We all have our own share of struggles in life. Some say, trials aren't there to knock us down but there to actually elevate our self confidence and faith in God. While I see no way to comfort a friend, I hope this song will keep her head up high. I wish to let her know that for all these trying times, it's not where we're leading but it's what keep us going along the way.

I can almost see it
That dream I am dreaming
But there's a voice inside my head saying
"You'll never reach it"

Every step I'm taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb

The struggles I'm facing
The chances I'm taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I'm not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I'm gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And I, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

'Cause there's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be a uphill battle
Sometimes I'm gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

There's always gonna be another mountain
I'm always gonna wanna make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Somebody's gonna have to lose

Ain't about how fast I get there
Ain't about what's waiting on the other side
It's the climb, yeah!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It's all about, it's all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, whoa

the oddity of SONA

It was my first time to watch and really listened to GMA's SONA. I hate to criticize for no governance is ever prefect. However, as I listened to GMA's eloquent yet boastful speech, I took me moments of reflection. Had I only known what she was talking, I could have been one from the audience adding to the applause. BUT her speech can't ever define why people have to march and rally from time to time only to have her stepped out from the position.

In memoriam of MJ...

Blazing cross the evening sky
Gone too soon

Fading in the twinkling of an eye
Gone too soon

i think God can explain

i was on my way to work this morning when this song was played on the radio. i don't know why but it made me reflect with the meaning of the song. it made sense...i realized. but weee...am not on 'emo'!:D

i just like the song..

There's a lot of things I understand
And there's a lot of things
That I don't want to know
But you're the only face I recognize
It's so damn sweet of you
To look me in the eyes

Chorus:
It's alright, I'm okay
I think God can explain
I believe I'm the same
I get carried away
It's alright, I'm okay
I think God can explain
I'm relieved, I'm relaxed
I'll get over it, yeah

Yeah...

The scent of vaseline
In the summer time
The feel of an ice cube
Melting overtime
Well, the world seems bigger
Than both of us
Yet it seems so small
When I begin to cry

(Chorus)

I'm so much better than you guessed
I'm so much bigger than you guessed
I'm so much brighter than you guessed
Yeah...

It's alright, I'm okay
I think God can explain
I believe I'm the same
I get carried away
It's alright, I'm okay
I think God can explain
I'm relieved, I'm relaxed
I'll get over your back...

I think God can explain
I think God can explain
I think God can explain
Yeah...

dream on!

They say that dreaming is for free. You can just imagine things, say things you want to be and you want to pursue but must make them come true of course with much actions. Yes, it's good to dream as possibilities are endless. Dreaming may be for free as you construct the ideas in your mind but it requires a lot of sacrifices to transform them into reality.

On the other way around, I don't know what's in a rustic furniture that I find solace in looking at it. I feel like I'm back to the old times. Out of the blue, I realized that it's time to have my goal more refined. Just like the dream I've always wanted even as a child.

Just to dream on and make believe.:-)

It's been a while and I miss this.

boys over flowers

Another Korean series is hitting the air wave now that I guess will go phenomenal like the Meteor Garden of F4. I don't know if a lot of us are aware of this since this is just another F4 version but we'll just see how much these characters would make the Filipino viewers love them.

However, I do still hope that our Filipino showbiz industry can also produce original series of our own without much franchising on Korean or other films to be known also in other country for our good in filming. Time when it's no longer us tagalizing their series but them translating our series into their own. right?

Samal Island's Blue Jaz beach resort - Pat II

My cousin chose Blue Jaz Beach Resort in Samal Island as a perfect place for her wedding pictorial. And so for the second time around we invaded the place. No, their wedding was not some kind of Judy-Ryan wedding reception. My cousin's wedding reception was held at the Grand MenSeng Hotel being one of the finest hotels in Davao.

They simply find Blu Jaz beach resort as a wonderful escapade for a couple too in love to each other while they took their great poses as a remembrance.

There they are at the pool...
My mom and aunt's pose at the beach...This one is the sliding area located at the back area near the close cottages...
Their close cottage..

At the field area..
Try and experience a fun-filled adventure at the beach now while summer is still on-the-go!

how reliable are your researches online?

I was surfing online when one freshly posted news from yahoo caught my attention. "Irish student hoaxes world's media with fake quote". In this advance technology, everything we would want to find out from history to the latest events and issues are just one click away from our pc and voila!!we are fed with interconnected information in just split seconds. Students no longer have long hours of researching from the old books in the school library. They no longer feel that kick in their stomach of making reports and assignments because the latest gadgets almost have it all. BUT, the big question there is that, HOW RELIABLE ARE YOUR RESEARCHES FROM THE INTERNET?Sure thing, students will be even more careful in finding reliable data in the internet after this.

Here's the news:

DUBLIN -When Dublin university student Shane Fitzgerald posted a poetic but phony quote on Wikipedia, he said he was testing how our globalized, increasingly Internet-dependent media was upholding accuracy and accountability in an age of instant news.

His report card: Wikipedia passed. Journalism flunked.

The sociology major's made-up quote — which he added to the Wikipedia page of Maurice Jarre hours after the French composer's death March 28 — flew straight on to dozens of U.S. blogs and newspaper Web sites in Britain, Australia and India.

They used the fabricated material, Fitzgerald said, even though administrators at the free online encyclopedia quickly caught the quote's lack of attribution and removed it, but not quickly enough to keep some journalists from cutting and pasting it first.

And the winners are...

For all the years that I have been into this blogging space, I have not anticipated the moments or instances where I will be taking part (at least) into the lives of my fellow bloggers. To share what needs to be imparted is enough for me. However, along the way, we just have to be grateful that there are people who acknowledge our ways of putting our thoughts together so that we will continue to learn still from each other. The real winner for me each time I receive any awards or recognition is still you, my fellow bloggers. Thank you musang for this very encouraging award. To me, you are not just a princess to the cats you love so dearly but a real princess for your fellow bloggers as well. :)
Here's th rule for passing this award: Accordingly, the recipient of this award is not your everyday blogger, if you visit their blog, one thing for sure, you will learn something (but most of the time, a lot) that really worth the time you spend reading their post. Their post is always well-written, with good grammar, very insightful, inspiring, thought provoking and you always wish that you’ve written it. They always have a great stories to tell, either about life, about themselves, or their family. Once you read their blog, there’s one thing that will stuck to your head, that they are absolutely, no doubt, a Smart Blogger!

* Link the one who gave this award and let them know you posted it.
* Pass this to as many Smart Bloggers as you can think and make sure to write something about them, like what makes you think they are Smart.
* Let them know they have an award.

Now, I am tossing this award to pchi, dong, keith and katcarneo. These are truly smart bloggers for me and simply inspire in many ways. :-)

Get personalized!

Wow! I didn't realize that even when you're just taking your morning tea or coffee, you may also have your coffee cup personalized with coffee sleeves. This is so cool! As I see it, you may also have your name's initial engraved or etched on it. Hmmm..this really sounds interesting to me since there a lot of coffee drinkers out there who also love to take their morning break while taking a good walk or reading the morning paper or magazine. Coffee sleeves are simply there to help you protect your hands from hot drink. Another good thing about it is that this re-usable monogrammed coffee sleeve can be your means of expressing your support to protect our mother earth while being your own fashion or style!

If your ever thought too of making one thing on your table more creative, you may also have your
personalized placemat wherein you may choose to put your family members' name or initials. This may also add attraction to kids as they will get to enjoy the color and designs of your placemat. Kids love colors and art works and so having your placemat personalized may take it easy for all moms to bring their kids into the table when it's eating time. And while mothers' are most often too preoccupied by lots of things from keeping the household chores all done to attending meetings or important gatherings, it is very helpful too that a mother will have to have her schedules organized by providing a kind of mom agenda wherein moms will not be missing important details or events. All these are just too perfect for all occasions as gifts to our love ones especially now that we are about to celebrate Mother's Day. Surprised your friends and love ones now and get personalized!

Earn and invest online

When I started blogging way back on the later part of year 2005, I thought of this online venture as something that would only help me out share my opinion about the different issues around me. It has also become an avenue where I could share some personal things that I only thought of randomly. However then, some years have passed, money- making online has also become known to all bloggers. As I see it, especially that we are in the recession period, now is the high time too to earn even when you're just at home facing your computer screen. You may now just register or Sign Up to Earn and have a very good investment of your money that will help you sustain from your financial stability. Do not give limit to your capability to earn in some way. I also learned that there are ways to earn money online and avail a very good investment for your home business with big help from Investment Forge. Learn more of this by visiting investmentforge.com!

Pacquiao and his faith vs. Hatton

Another big celebration for all Filipinos for the "people's champ's" victory over his fight with the "hitman" that only took two rounds...ahhh! I am not really a big fan of this kind of game. Well, as a woman, my interest is so far from it. However, I just couldn't help but be in one with the rest of our kababayan for feeling joyful over Pacquiao's another great win.

I guess the only difference between Manny Pacquiao from the rest of his opponents in all his boxing games is that Pacquiao rests his case on God before he starts to play while I see his opponents simply putting their confidence on themselves alone. Well, I don't know about his opponents' faith but what really admires me about Manny is that even if he has trained a lot and has already proven his great ability in boxing, and that each time he's already in the boxing arena, you'll see him really proud of his faith by bowing his head and pray before each of his game.

Here's hoping that in spite of Pacman's success in the boxing field, he'll stay humble and continue to put his confidence in God.

Swine Flu Outbreak

The public is now advised to take extra careful over the endemic Swine flu that first hit Mexico. Here's the news:

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Across Asia, people are closely following the global spread of swine flu from Mexico and preparing for the worst after the World Health Organization raised its alert level for the outbreak.

Authorities in the region have boosted surveillance at airports and hospitals, stockpiled anti-viral drugs and other supplies to fight any outbreaks.

Face masks and anti-viral drugs like Relenza and Tamiflu flew off the shelves from pharmacies in some cities on Tuesday.

"It's really apparent, people have been buying face masks all day," said Cyrus Chan, the boss of a dispensary in Hong Kong's Wanchai bar district who had sold out his entire stock of 10,000 adult face-masks and only had child sizes left.

"Since SARS, this is the second time there's been such a great demand," Chan added, as a steady stream of customers asking for masks were told there wouldn't be any new stocks of adult masks till later.

Davao City's Hotels and Restaurants

I remember the first time I worked for an online business office. The first and challenging task given to me was to research about the different kinds of hotels and restaurants in Davao. I thought of it at first as an easy thing to do since there are online information out there that may make my research easy. But then along the way, I realized that it wasn't that easy. When I had to scout each area where these Davao hotels may be located and figured out myself what they cater. And under the scorching heat of the sun (since I was only commuting to get to the area), I had to work on this task before reaching the deadline that my boss gave me.

Davao has many hotels that are not actually far different from big cities. We have Marco Polo hotel that is just located at the heart of Davao with only 20 minutes travel from the Davao International Airport and Waterfront Insular Hotel that is only 10 to 15mins from the DIA. Actually, these are just two of the very good hotels in Davao as part of my research. There are more hotels even offering very good discount. That didn't took me really long to work for that project and for that office. I have to go back to where my heart belongs. However, after that project, I hope that the amount compensated for me and the sweat I earned during the research paid them all.

It's summer here, for sure a lot tourists will be looking for the best hotel to stay in Davao.

Afraid for Love to Fade

by Jose Mari Chan

my head's in a jam cant take you off my mind
from the time we met i've been beset by thoughts of you
and the more that i ignore this feeling
the more i find my self believin'
that i just have to see you again

i cant let you pass me by
i just cant let you go but i know
that im much too shy to let you know
afraid that i might say the wrong
word and displease you
afraid for love to fade
before it can come true

like a child again
im out and lost for words
how does one define a crush combine with longing
longing to posses oh so dearly
and im obsess with you completely
ill go mad if i cant have you

i cant let you pass me by
i just cant let you go let me say
the things and say the words to let you know
i would rather say the awkward words than loose you
afraid for love to fade
before it can come true

afraid for love to fade
before it can come true...

Best deals for air condition

My nephews are with us during weekends and just last night they were so excited to sleep with us especially when we started to have our air condition on and feel its coolness while we're already off to bed. However, I noticed that they were not content of its coolness that they want to put its coolness into its highest temperature. Maybe because of the weather that we have now since it's summer and it hasn't been raining for quite a while.

It's summer here and it's so humid. The air condition in our room seems to have lost much of its coolness that I think already needs a replacement. While I do not have enough time to look for the best air condition in town, I find that the easiest way to search out of my busy schedule is to look for one online. I've been trying to figure out how to improve the air conditioning system in our room and this one I see online is my best option. I think my search is over!:)

happy Easter

He has risen!!

HaPPy EAsTer everyone!

touch of nature

I always imagine myself living in a house filled with wooden interiors like that of a rustic furniture . I love nature and having these kinds of stuff around me make me feel like I have always been very closed to nature. I don't know if I am just being influenced by the fairy tales I watched as a child back then where most princesses from the story that I read lived in a wooden house with wooden furniture in it. But ever since then my interest really goes to having furniture with very good carvings and are looking personalized. In my thought of buying a new house, I am very particular with its interior design being etched with wooden objects or anything that would make me feel closed to nature. And so while I am in my search for wooden things that might have a certain touch of classic I found these end tables for my living room very interesting. I wish I c0uld suggest the same thing to my other members of the family and hopefully they'll agree with my taste. (hehe!) Well, I know in my heart that I have good taste with things and I can make my house looking personalized with a look of classics and elegance. And so, maybe one of these days I will have my interior completely designed with wooden furniture just as how I still imagine myself like one of the princesses in fairy tales. :)

The weather here has been very unpredictable in effect to global warming. Even though it's summer but still we are experiencing rain shower and thunderstorm mostly at night time. However, the climate is so humid during day time that it would sometimes reach to 45 degrees. How's that?! Well, some may have thought of going on a vacation now. A relaxing place for a good break from workload and a memorable venue to enjoy with family and friends. But for most devote Catholics, this moment is still a time to reflect in observance for the Lenten season. The Holy week is a very remarkable moment for us Christians as we pay tribute to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for His passion and death on earth. Yet, there are still some who would grab this moment as a time to go places and feel a different ambiance the way Arizona real estate could offer. Some may want to get away from the bad weather that they're encountering in their area and figure what's there at the far end of the globe. The changes of weather brought by global warming may result to ill effect especially to our health. And so it's important too that people make ways to alleviate this and make solutions other than enjoying the summer at the beach or outdoor activities.

It's been raining outside now as I write this entry while the weather may be a lot different in Arizona or in some part of the State. The option is yours. You can either go places or stay where you're at.

missing here...

There are just things that I miss doing lately but I have to. I have to miss things to figure out how much they matter. And I have to miss things to give top priority to something else.

I haven't been into blogging and blog hopping for quite awhile (for health reason). Am missing the things I used to do on a regular basis like hearing about people's story around the globe through their blogs and getting to know bloggers (somehow) on a personal level through our exchange of views and opinion in our comment box.

I hope to stay in touch. Soon. I just miss it here.

Take care everyone!:)

Healthy tips on fruits intake

**I find this forwarded email from a very good friend very helpful for all of us and so I am sharing this. I realized that the absence of knowledge about things can really be so unhealthy. And so here are the proper ways of taking in fruits in our body...

We all think eating fruits means just buying fruits, cutting it and just popping it into our mouths. It's not so easy as you think.

It's important to know how and when to eat.

What is the correct way of eating fruits?
* IT MEANS NOT EATING FRUITS AFTER YOUR MEALS!
* FRUITS SHOULD BE EATEN ON AN EMPTY STOMACH.

If you eat fruit like that, it will play a major role to detoxify your system, supplying you with a great deal of energy for weight loss and other life activities.

FRUIT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FOOD.

Let's say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit. The slice of fruit is ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but it is prevented from doing so. In the meantime the whole meal rots and ferments and turns to acid. The minute the fruit comes into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil.

So please eat your fruits on an empty stomach or before your meals! You have heard people complaining - every time I eat water-melon I burp, when I eat durian my stomach bloats up, when I eat banana I feel like running to the toilet etc -actually all this will not arise if you eat the fruit on an empty stomach. The fruit mixes with the putrefying other food and produces gas and hence you will bloat! There is no such thing as some fruits like orange and lemon are acidic because all fruits become alkaline in our body, according to Dr. Herbert Shelton who did a research on this matter.

If you have mastered the correct way of eating fruits, you have the Secret of beauty, longevity, health, energy, happiness and normal weight. When you need to drink fruit juice - drink only fresh fruit juice, NOT From the cans. Don't even drink juice that has been heated up. Don't eat Cooked fruits because you don't get the nutrients at all.You only get to taste....Cooking destroys all the vitamins. But eating a whole fruit is better than drinking the juice. If you Should drink the juice, drink it mouthful by mouthful slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

You can go on a 3-day fruit fast to cleanse your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruit juice throughout the 3 days and you will be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look!

KIWI: Tiny but mighty. This is a good source of potassium, magnesium,Vitamin E & fiber. Its Vitamin C content is twice that of an orange.

APPLE: An apple a day keeps the doctor away? Although an apple has a low Vitamin C content, it has antioxidants & flavonoids which enhances the activity of Vitamin C thereby helping to lower the risks of colon cancer, heart attack & stroke.

STRAWBERRY: Protective Fruit. Strawberries have the highest total antioxidant power among major fruits & protect the body from cancer-causing, blood vessels-clogging free radicals.

ORANGE : Sweetest medicine. Taking 2 -4 oranges a day may help keep colds away, lower cholesterol, prevent & dissolve kidney stones as well as lessens the risk of colon cancer.

WATERMELON:Coolest Thirst Quencher Composed of 92% water, it is also packed with a giant dose of glutathione, which helps boost our immune system. They are also a key source of lycopene-the cancer fighting oxidant. Other nutrients found in watermelon are Vitamin C & Potassium.

GUAVA & PAPAYA: Top awards for Vitamin C. They are the clear winners for their high Vitamin C content. Guava is Also rich in fiber, which helps prevent constipation.Papaya is rich in carotene;this is good for your eyes.

Drinking Cold water after meal = Cancer! Can u believe this??

For those who like to drink cold water, this article is applicable to you. It is nice to have a cup of cold drink after a meal. However, the cold water will solidify the oily stuff that you have just consumed. It will slow down the digestion. Once this 'sludge' reacts with the acid, it will break down and be absorbed by the intestine faster than the solid food. It will line the intestine. Very soon, this will turn into fats and lead to cancer.

It is best to Drink hot soup or warm water after a meal.

* Have a healthy eating habit everyone! take care!:)

26 guards

Have you ever felt the urge to pray for someone and then just put it on a list and said, "I'll pray for them later?" Or has anyone ever called you and said, "I need you to pray for me, I have this need?"

***Read the following story that was sent to me and may it change the way that you may think about prayer and also the way you pray.

You will be blessed by this.

A missionary on furlough told this true story while visiting his home church in Michigan .

"While serving at a small field hospital in Africa , every two weeks I traveled by bicycle through the jungle to a nearby city for supplies. This was a journey of two days and required camping overnight at the halfway point.

On one of these journeys, I arrived in the city where I planned to collect money from a bank, purchase medicine, and supplies, and then begin my two-day journey back to the field hospital.

Upon arrival in the city, I observed two men fighting, one of whom had been seriously injured. I treated him for his injuries and at the same time talked to him about the Lord.I then travelled two days, camping overnight, and arrived home without incident.

Two weeks later I repeated my journey.

Upon arriving in the city, I was approached by the young man I had treated. He told me that he had known I carried money and medicines. He said, 'Some friends and I followed you into the jungle, knowing you would camp overnight. We planned to kill you and take your money and drugs.

But just as we were about to move into your camp, we saw that you were surrounded by 26 armed guards.

At this, I laughed and said that I was certainly all alone in that jungle campsite. The young man pressed the point, however, and said, 'No, sir, I was not the only person to see the guards, my friends also saw them, and we all counted them. It was because of those guards that we were afraid and left you alone.'

At this point in the sermon, one of the men in the congregation jumped to his feet and interrupted the missionary and asked if he could tell him the exact day this happened.

The missionary told the congregation the date and the man who interrupted told him this story:

"On the night of your incident in Africa , it was morning here and I was preparing to go play golf. I was about to putt when I felt the urge to pray for you. In fact, the urging of the Lord was so strong; I called men in this church to meet with me here in the sanctuary to pray for you.

Would all of those men who met with me on that day stand up?"

The men who had met together to pray that day stood up. The missionary wasn't concerned with who they were, he was too busy counting how many men he saw. There were 26.

***This story is an incredible example of how the Spirit of the Lord moves in mysterious ways. If you ever hear such prodding, go along with it. Nothing is ever hurt by prayer except the gates of hell. I encourage you to forward this to as many people as you know.

If we all take it to heart, we can turn this world toward God once again. As the above true story clearly illustrates, "with God all things are possible".

More importantly, how God hears and answers the prayers of the faithful.

food for thought..

"Sometimes it's better to be lost anywhere in this world where you can ask directions back.Than be lost inside yourself where redemption lies in your hands alone."

A shopaholic confession

Oh, well! I am not a shopaholic person and so I personally have nothing to confess. I just remember the movie "Confessions of a Shopaholic" and I wonder if the lead star ever used the best gas credit cards available in the market now. For sure I haven't seen the movie because I was too busy from work that I only have the weekend to take a good nap and rest. But really, if I were a shopaholic person, surely I would choose for the best credit card around just in case I run out of cash. Now, what? Well, a friend of mine has really confessed on me that each time she's out of budget and her salary would be given late, her credit card really helped her a lot.

I got curious with the idea from a friend and so I went to check online for the best credit cards comparison somehow hoping that I could avail one for myself. There are just a lot of credit cards offered anywhere but I need something that would really give me a good credit. I then found dealsforcreditcards.com that offers great comparison guide to help me out where and how to get the best credit cards with very low interest. The search here can help figure what can the credit card offers, help the clients realize and calculate balance transfer savings and can also make comparison on the terms and conditions of the cards. Things here are already laid them all too easily and more convenient for everybody.

passport?

I am living in my own country and yet it's ironic that it has become uncommon to most Filipinos to have not gotten a passport.

One time, a good friend of mine asked me if I already have my passport. My answer is direct and simple. I told her I have no passport yet. And then she said, "Oisst!bilisan mo na pagkuha ng passport mo kasi dumadami ang pila ng tao sa DFA. Baka mahirapan kana makakuha lalo na sa panahon ngayon. Medyo matagal na daw nila niri-release ang passport, will take a month na raw." And I just nodded. However, this to me is something that I feel actually odd because I am starting to feel like an alien in my own country only because I do not own a passport: a passport for leaving the place I call home.

The impact of people saying, "kuha kana ng passport mo,dali!" is a simple insinuation of eagerly leaving this poor country "one day soon". And it's sad. I, myself hope to be working abroad one day. But I never thought that i would be starting to see almost all things pathetically in my own country.

I can only hope and pray that even when we have to go to find better opportunity abroad, we'll still see ourselves retiring in our own land one day.

well lived...

A lot of shows in t.v now have been airing about the passing of Francis M. and paying tribute to him as a man who inspired a lot of people through his music. I myself is inspired to hear about the well lived life of Francis M. and the so many fans whose lives he'd touched. And since he was a real epitome of deep nationalism..I also wish to pay tribute to Francis M. for all his makabayan songs.

Salamat Kiko for reliving in us our love for our country. Have a great journey with our Creator!

So many faces, so many races
Different voices, different choices
Some are mad, while others laugh
Some live alone with no better half
Others grieve while others curse
And others mourn behind a big black hearse
Some are pure and some half-bred
Some are sober and some are wasted
Some are rich because of fate and
Some are poor with no food on their plate
Some stand out while others blend
Some are fat and stout while some are thin
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin' round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

Some are great and some are few
Others lie while some tell the truth
Some say poems and some do sing
Others sing through their guitar strings
Some know it all while some act dumb
Let the bassline strum to the bang of the drum
Some can swim while some will sink
And some will find their minds and think
Others walk while others run
You can't talk peace and have a gun
Some are hurt and start to cry
Don't ask me how don't ask me why
Some are friends and some are foes
Some have some while some have most

Every color and every hue
Is represented by me and you
Take a slide in the slope
Take a look in the kaleidoscope
Spinnin' round, make it twirl
In this kaleidoscope world

What's wrong with Ombudsman Gutierrez?

Lately Ombudsman Gutierrez has reached limelight because of the issue tossed to her by almost everybody. And now, she's asked to resign. Well, I do not know this woman personally so still i have no right to fry her with intrigues. However, i was just kind of appalled with how she responded during the investigation done at the Senate when she was being questioned with regards to her duty as an Ombudsman and with the issues she's going through.

More of Gutierrez' responses were like just coatings in a cake. Para bang, the best defense for her is also to say something negative against these people who filed impeachment complaint against her.

Why can't she just go straight to the point and answer her case? like what happened to her investigation esp. on FG's case?

Kung di sya guilty bakit nya parang minamani ang utak ng mga tao na para bang mas may tinatago sya. Why would she keep on talking about other people when she's the one being put into question? Naalala ko tuloy entry ni batopik. Ganyang-ganyan sya nung sinalang sya sa senado.

Hayyy, nakakasayang minsan ng oras when talking about this kind of issue. But sometimes we have to raise our point about things.

Bill Gates organized an enormous session to recruit a new Chairman for Microsoft Europe.

Exactly 5,000 candidates assembled in a large room.
One candidate is MARIO DIMACULANGAN.

Bill Gates: Thank you for coming. Those who do not know JAVA may leave.

Bill Gates: Candidates who never had experience in managing more than 100 people may leave.

What can happen to me?' So he stays.

Bill Gates: Candidates who do not have management diplomas may leave.
500 people leave the room.

Mario says to himself, 'I left high school at 15 but what have I got to lose?'
So he stays in the room.

Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo-Croat to leave.
498 people leave the room.

Mario says to himself, ' I do not speak one word of Serbo-Croat but what do I have to lose?'
So he stays and finds himself with one other candidate.
Everyone else has gone.

Serbo-Croat, so I'd now like to hear you have a conversation together in that language.'

The truth I never knew

It's been quite awhile since I touched political issues in my blog. About three years had passed, I used to make commentaries in one online newspaper about politics especially in my own country. I just could not help but react about certain issues when I realized that they affected and aggravated the lives of the masses. I used to be a mass defender in secret. But then my boss opted to close the site after couple of years. Feeling tired somehow in dealing with governmental issues, I shifted my writing into the lighter side of life. I was not really very good in my Political Science or History class when I was a student. The subject got me bored. Though there were interesting stories about some of our heroes in the past or of political terms, I still got to yawn with the way my college professor dealt the subject for us to have better understanding about their importance. However, I never thought that when I finished college, the subject would be one my interests. I realized that there is more to the thing of the past that we ought to know and should not forget. Things that may have gone but continue to depict our lives at present.

There is no endpoint to learning. Having said that, reading becomes my very good refuge. I am not a "know-it-all" individual even when I continue to learn and discover things. As a matter of fact, I still get to feel amaze to have known past or present issues even outside my very own country. Just an hour ago, I read this one article online that talks about the truth and facts about holodomor . Now you may ask me what that word is. Well, even to me, it never sounds familiar. I suggest that you read the passage from holodomor-truth.org and learn about the peasants of that time in the past who suffered much due to ineffective economic policy of the Republics of the Soviet Union's Communists government.

When I read the article, I am somehow afraid that it could happen in this present global financial crisis that we're facing. We may not realize that in some part of the world, there are also existing communists government who may likely attempt to neglect the need of the poor and continue with their personal aims and selfish desire. I honestly fear for my own country. I couldn't think for more when I read that site's article but the status of my very own native land. However, I pray that God forbid, that incident will never happen again.

take time to play

"Take time to play, it is the secret of staying young."

In line with our little community's feast of the patron Saint "Our Lady of Lourdes" for the month of February, we held a simple celebration for the kids. Being tasked to organize the said event, I felt accomplished to see the children's smile while performing different parlor games.

They were simply content with the goodies and candies we prepared for them. I guess it's really true that there is nothing more fulfilling than being able to bring joy to little children. If you would look at their happiness, it seems like no problem in this world that's too impossible to deal.

There were actually more games but I wasn't able to capture them all since I wasn't able to have my camera fully charged. sigh!!

I had fun. We all had fun and it feels good to be able laugh and play with them.
“Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:1-4)

post- valentine sonnet

I never adhere Shakespeare's old English mainly because i find it too hard to understand. But there are things about him that really taught me the real qualities of a very good writer...

SONNET 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not Time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

Web hosting for your site

When I started blogging way back in 2005, online journal was not yet this heap. My very good friend introduced it to ease away our boredom from work. She didn't know that I was already addicted to writing then. But all of my musings were just safe secretly written in my journal notebook. I never even thought that I would get to know people and befriend them even when they're millions miles away. Until we learn to exchange our views through our blog sites. Everything seemed to be just working fast forward and I woke up one day already found online blogging a hit. At first I never had a single idea about what the technology of this new generation can bring. My knowledge about computer was so limited. Until my friend told me that she'll make a blog of her own from a cheap web hosting .

Blogging for quite a number of years ,it would be a good idea to own a personalize site. I asked her what a web hosting is and I found out that it is a kind of internet hosting service allowing an individual or any organizations to provide their very own website that is accessible around world wide web. And then I found online a very good
budget web hosting that will help all who wants to make their own website but with limited funds. Aside from that this web hosting site can also provide reseller web hosting allowing the clients to be web hosts themselves. This is a reseller too that may provide identical service to their provider's shared hosting plan while also giving technical support. I have been looking for a reliable web hosting that will guarantee me a very good service provider and lypha.com is my target. You can go and visit their site online for more of your queries.

Shrine Hills reflection

Last month was the feast of Sto. Nino. We went to Shrine Hills as it becomes my parents yearly ritual to go the this place where the image of Sto. Nino can be found. The down pouring of the rain was too heavy that I wasn't able to have my camera on. And so last week, I went back to the place to take a picture of it by myself hoping I could share it in here. Here are the views..i can only hope i got good shots.:)

The image of Sto. Nino in the middle..(the woman in red is i guess a devotee)

the wide open field..

stairway to the Shrine ...

another wide field with trees surrounding the area..

the Saints in black sculptures..
Going to the place will give you a very good reflection you need at times. Time when you want to stay away from the hush and noise around you and you need a place to hear the silence within you along with your faith. Have a great journey to all!take care!

Search and Shop

Can you now imagine just what our present great technology can do? No more sweating around downtown area looking for the best product in town. One easy-to-search online products is here in store for you. Just a click to its store directory and you are already inch away from what you are looking for. A store just perfect for all occasions. Since it's love month and valentine's day is just way around in the coming days, shopwiki.com has got what you actually need. Lately I see some people running here and there because of their jam packed schedule when they no longer have time to go shopping and malling. It's as if business is every tick of the clock's on the go for them. As time is too important, we do not want it get wasted by touring around stores in the city just looking for one or two items for our office' stuff, house stuff or for a special occasion.

I am amazed with what online store can offer to almost all of us around the globe. This one doesn't actually make any less difference with the store we used to shop with. They too can offer discounts making their products more affordable for those who have tight budget. While there are still some who would adhere on the normal shopping way like driving to South to get the products they need, shopwiki.com is of great advantage for all busy people who no longer get enough time to choose for the best product they want in town.

As it makes you more at ease while you just sit in front of your pc monitor, type in the key words, search and click and presto!!you already have the product that you are looking for!Just sitting comfortably without spending much time and effort, I don't think there could be more comfy than the feeling of being just at home while doing the shop and search at shopwiki.com!

Tag-award from the cat

This one reminds me of what some people say as "hitting two birds in one stone". Giving honor to a fellow blogger through the award and getting to know the blogger in depth through a tag. An award and a tag that I just coined to be a "Tag-Award".

Anyway, got this from prinsesamusang . At first I've known musang before as just a mere lover of cats in blogworld since most of her posts then were about her pretty and talented cat. Am not a cat lover to be honest, but because of musang's strong influence, i have learned to find joy with what funny things cats can do. But just when I thought that all her views were just about her cats, later I've seen the more inspiring musang with such wit in her posts. Thanks girl! Am not used to dealing with tags but i'll try give it a shot.

Top ten honest things about me:

1. Am a blogger since 2005 from other successful site i must say ( now still existing though). but due to personal matter, I came to be 'nyl' to try writing without being identified. i realized na mas masarap pala ang feeling nung you just write to inspire people (or not at all ) with what you do without people knowing your real identity.

2. I salivate each time I see green mango (di nman buntis!) weird parang aso!:D
3. I cry over sad movies. (tao lang!0)
4. I am not much into details..mas gusto kong tingnan ang isang bagay in one whole spectrum whether its an issue or an object.
5. I can't dance.
6. I am clumsy...madalas akong mabunggo sa mga door knobs at matapilok sa daan. In other words: no poise!
7. I love music..part of my system.
8. I hate competition. Magpagalingan na lahat ng tao sa mundo, wala akong pakialam..kaya kelan man di ako sisikat at yayaman..hehe!
9. I have not tried riding any carousel or ferris wheel.
10. The farthest place that I've traveled far is only through my imagination(joke lang!)..seriously it's the city of Cebu only.

Now am passing this on to all readers who might have wished to answer the tag. And whether you're just new in blogosphere or not..you still deserve this "honest weblog" award. :)

To do this one here are the mechanics :
“When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real.” “Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Weblog.” Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!”

My naive scent

If there's another thing I find myself funny and even silly, it's the naivety that I seem to have over things that some people labeled to be "branded". To be honest I am not the type of woman who knows so much about beauty products. My being a late bloomer of course is no excuse(haha!). That's a confession. Just that I am confined into what's conventional in my own viewpoint. A Lipstick or lip shiner and some face powder are the only women thing that I am used to wearing when I go out. And about this Talk Perfume thing, I use cologne more often than perfume. Strong scents would at times cause me headache.

Talking about naivety, well, I don't know if that's the right term but there's this funny story about my first time to have tried a quite expensive perfume. That was actually a gift to me from my cousin who just arrived from working abroad. He gave me this big bottle of imported perfume. Well, since I wanted to have it consumed than just preserving it as a collection and so I tried to use it almost every time I was out. But then as minutes would passed by, I wonder why I no longer felt its scent on me. And so what I did was that I kept spraying that perfume on my body until I realized that after a week, the bottle was already half empty. Oh, well, only later then some experts told me that there are expensive perfumes that you won't really smell its scent by yourself but just other people near you can. And I was like "wow!" when I realized how some men that would passed by me, looked at me at times like wanting to devour me. The bad thing is that I had no idea if it's about my perfume that might have caused them headache for its strong scent or something else because they were not talking in the first place! Now I've learned my lesson. I felt so embarrassed over that fact. Whew, my naive!:O

Promises are not meant to be broken

I was surprised to hear Arnel Pineda's story when once in his life he was indulged into prohibited drugs. He bravely confessed that it almost ruined not only his life but also his family. His wife already thought of leaving him then. But God never comes late to all who seek for conversion. While there is more to life and while drug treatment is never impossible, Arnel's life shifted into a one big package full of wonderful hopes and promises.

Now, looking at how Arnel Pineda has gone far, already a successful singer of his time. I always believe that while there is life, there is also hope. If you know someone who is into the same situation, it is never too late to help them and be inspired like Arnel. Do visit too treatmentdrug.org as they will help you and promise to build your dreams again because for them promises are not meant to be broken.

five years curriculum

The CHED (Commission on Higher Education) proposed a five-year college curriculum for Liberal Arts(AB), Education and Nursing courses. The reason is that the CHED wants an even more quality graduates. OK, i got the point. Easy to understand , right? The intention is clear-QUALITY GRADUATE. But wait, do these people in this office stop to realize how bad our economy has become, financial crisis so alarming and and parents work their butt 24/7 only to sustain the needs of their children especially on educational finances? Well, I think I'll see more undergraduates in the next millennium if this proposed plan of CHED for 2010 will push through.

Well, I suggest that instead of adding one year for these courses, why don't they just plan on having more trainings and seminars for teachers for them to be even more effective in their fields? More programs that will enhance the capabilities of teachers in the teaching profession. The intention of CHED is however good for our future graduates but taking a closer look of the other side of the coin, one year is another burden to all parents or gurdians' part. Ang sa aking lang, hirap na nga tayong magpaaral ng anak sa college dadagdagan pa ng CHED ang pasanin ng mga magulang.

And so for me, I say NO to this proposal and yes to more trainings and seminars for all educators. Makisimpatiya naman tayo sa hirap ng buhay ngayon. There is an alternative to all our goals where none will be affected. Sa aking opinyon, wala naman yun sa haba ng taon ang learning eh, it's in the training grounds for the students to be competent when they graduate. And a good training ground already started by the time we learn the ABC's in kindergarten.

who am i

One fine Saturday afternoon, while washing the dishes, a loud noise from one room in the house got me pissed off. I stopped to sneak what was the fuzz. And there I saw my 11-year-old nephew (my nephews are used to visit us home during weekends) singing loudly with the song online. I asked him to lower the volume finding my nephews already grown to be a little wild in their choice of music. I've always abhorred rock music esp. when it's just plain noise and lyrics have no substance. I do not see it an art in an aspect. Art has to have substance, i believe. However, as i looked at the lyrics of the song, i felt ashamed to have realized that what I thought to be just plain rock music that my nephew was so into, is a song about an ordinary one to an extraordinary God. I don't know if my nephew has really come to understand the meaning of the song other than just liking its melody. The following morning, I went to hear mass. The church is just a walking distance from where I reside. The theme of the mass was about "conversion". I don't know if it was just mere coincidence that while the priest went on with his sermon, he sang some lines from the song that my nephew just listened to on that Saturday afternoon. The priest associated the song to the theme of the mass that got me teary-eyed. I don't know if it's the music that moved me or the thought of an 11-year-old boy liking the song or must have been feeling the message of it at such an age. I don't know exactly what lesson does the music try to press on me but I know that if there's one thing that I learned on that very day, it's being able to control my emotion from the noise around me and listen more with patience to God's message of love out of life's cacophony. Here goes the song...

Who am I?
That the Lord of all the earth,
Would care to know my name,
Would care to feel my hurt.
Who am I?
That the bright and morning star,
Would choose to light the way,
For my ever wandering heart.

Bridge:
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

Chorus:
I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.

Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are.

I am a flower quickly fading,
Here today and gone tomorrow,
A wave tossed in the ocean,
A vapor in the wind.
Still you hear me when I'm calling,
Lord, you catch me when I'm falling,
And you've told me who I am.
I am yours.
I am yours.

I am yours.

Whom shall I fear?
Whom shall I fear?
'Cause I am yours.
I am yours.
